About the Role

The Production Associate plays a critical role in the wholesale trade industry by ensuring the proper handling, preparation, and storage of meat products to maintain quality and safety standards. This position involves inspecting, meat as well as preparing products for distribution to clients and retail locations. The Production Associate must adhere strictly to health and safety regulations to prevent contamination and spoilage, thereby protecting consumer health and company reputation.

Additionally, the role requires collaboration with team members to maintain an efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment. Ultimately, the Production Associate contributes to the seamless supply chain operations by delivering high-quality meat products that meet customer expectations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous experience in meat handling, food processing, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration and storage requirements for perishable goods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in food safety or meat handling.
  • Experience working in a wholesale or large-scale meat distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Ability to operate meat cutting and processing equipment.
  • Strong communication skills for effective teamwork.
Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect incoming meat shipments for quality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Properly store meat products in designated refrigeration or freezing units to maintain freshness.
  • Prepare and package meat products according to customer specifications and company guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment in compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist in inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing and dispatch of orders.
  • Follow all safety protocols to minimize risks of injury and contamination.

The required skills such as knowledge of food safety and hygiene are essential for daily tasks to ensure all meat products are handled in compliance with health regulations, preventing contamination. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads are used regularly when moving and organizing meat shipments and products.
