Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled PRN Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to support patients with mental health and behavioral needs. The Behavioral RN provides safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments and monitor patient status
- Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, policies, and regulations
- Support patients and families with education and emotional support
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in (State)
- Minimum (1–2) years of behavioral health, psychiatric, or related nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required (ACLS preferred, if applicable)
- Strong assessment, communication, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work independently in a PRN capacity
Preferred Experience
- Inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health settings
- Crisis stabilization, detox, or substance use treatment
- Trauma-informed care experience
