Nurse Apprentice

This per diem Nurse Apprentice opportunity offers a convenient flexible schedule. The successful candidate will provide support to nursing care and coordinate the delivery of patient treatments to assigned patients in a medical/surgical facility, ensuring adherence to hospital or department and University policies, and nursing procedures, standards, and practices. The role includes assessing patient health, developing plans of care, administering treatments, educating patients and their families, and providing patient and family support as a liaison with doctors and other staff members.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, geriatric, and general patient populations.
  • In coordination with an RN preceptor, formulate patient care plans.
  • Revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness under the supervision of the RN preceptor.
  • Knowledge of medications and their correct administration, under the direct supervision of the RN preceptor, based on age of the patient and clinical condition.

Qualifications
