Licensed Veterinary Technician

Fairgrounds Animal Hospital is growing and has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team! Our technicians play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care during both outpatient visits and procedures. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing treatment plans, assisting during exams, and assisting with surgeries and procedures.

We are looking for a technician who enjoys collaborating with others, communicates well with clients and teammates, and brings a positive, proactive approach to their work. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in both outpatient and surgical settings while being part of a supportive, team-focused environment.

This is a flexible full-time or part-time position with 10-hour shifts.
Saturday availibility is required.

• Compensation: $25-29 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $2000

• 2+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Current Licensed Veterinary Technician certification in the state of Nevada
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Venipuncture and administering injections
  • Surgical prep and assistance
  • Radiology technique and positioning
  • In house laboratory processing

Fairground Animal Hospital (the biggest little clinic in Reno!) offers a wide range of veterinary services from wellness exams and annual vaccines to dental care, soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, and urgent care. We have an in‑house lab, digital full body x‑ray, dental radiography, ultrasound, intra‑oral camera, laser therapy and a paperless record system through Cornerstone. Additionally, we utilize high‑grade anesthetic monitoring equipment, including doppler, capnography, ECG, and pulse oximetry.

We are a well‑established and growing 4‑doctor practice that is truly part of the Reno community. Our team includes 2 LVTs and 2 Veterinary Technicians in Training who are committed to ongoing learning and development.
