Deli Clerk – Sprouts Farmers Market

Overview The Deli Clerk works in a professional kitchen preparing and cooking meals. Sprouts Farmers Market – one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers – is looking for team members passionate about food who enjoy serving customers and maintaining a clean, friendly environment.

• Assist customers in making healthy food choices and prepare “fresh and easy meals.”
• Provide high-level customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged and presented.
• Maintain cleanliness of the deli department area, including shelves, floors, equipment and displays.
• Fill, maintain and rotate products and displays.
• Prepare special orders and party trays.
• Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures.
• Receive, inspect and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature and quality.

• Minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant or related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable, reliable and friendly with a positive attitude.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 70 lbs. horizontally or vertically for up to 4 hours and stand continuously for 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area.
• Operate slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment and assist in maintaining all equipment in safe working condition.
• Adhere to all safety, health and Weights and Measures regulations; hold a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in cooler and freezer temperature environments.
• Other related duties as assigned.
