UES is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist/Hydrogeologist to support a variety of water resource and environmental related projects. The successful candidate will have opportunities to support interesting and challenging projects conducting field data collection, data management and analysis, and assisting with report preparation while learning and working under the direction of a Professional Geologist/Hydrogeologist. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry level professional interested in working in the water resources consulting environment with ample room for professional growth.

• Conduct environmental studies to evaluate natural resources, ecosystems, and pollution levels.
• Perform fieldwork, collect samples, and gather data using various methods and equipment.
• Analyze environmental data, including air and water quality, soil composition, and biodiversity.
• Interpret findings to assess environmental impacts and identify potential risks.
• Prepare detailed reports documenting research findings, data analysis, and recommendations.
• Develop proposals, cost estimates, and project deliverables to meet client expectations and quality standards.
• Perform technical writing in addition to fieldwork related to soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
• Conduct site investigations, collect and evaluate data, and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and standards.
• Assist in obtaining environmental permits and approvals for projects.
• Manage environmental projects, including groundwater monitoring and Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments.
• Collaborate with organizations, government agencies, and communities to promote eco-friendly practices.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology or related field.
• AHERA Asbestos Inspector license and current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• 3+ years of experience in environmental research, assessments, and project management.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with GIS, AutoCAD, or environmental software a plus.
• Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for off‑site meetings, training sessions, or company events. Travel will be communicated in advance and aligned with business needs.

Work is primarily conducted outdoors with exposure to outdoor conditions, including sites that may not be accessible by vehicle, requiring travel on foot through wetlands, swamps, grasslands, construction zones, and other uneven or rugged terrain with natural and man‑made obstacles such as sand, brush, and debris. Moderate to loud noise levels due to lab equipment, field operations, and construction environments. Exposure to dirt, dust, chemicals, sun, heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions as part of field sample collection and testing.

• Ability to lift and carry between 35 and 75 lbs over distances up to 75 feet, involving regular repetitive motion.
• Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate laboratory and field equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for laboratory and fieldwork.
• Ability to use visual, auditory, tactile, and olfactory senses, including near/far vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means in a lab and field environment, often requiring the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
