Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide responsive, knowledgeable and courteous service by protecting the property and ensuring the safety of guests and team members through observation, reporting and response.
- Respond calmly to all emergency situations (e.g., bomb threats, medical incidents, deaths, domestic disturbances).
- Work various posts, including stationary/sitting posts, mobile/standing posts, driving a company vehicle, or roaming posts on foot; posts can be inside or outside the hotel as directed by Security leadership.
- Patrol the property continuously, assisting guests/team members as needed and securing the hotel property against loss or damage.
- Observe all areas inside/outside the hotel for safety concerns or suspicious circumstances.
- Exercise good judgment, reason and a calm demeanor when approaching a disgruntled individual; follow department policies during confrontations.
- In emergencies, take control and instruct fellow co‑workers, team members and guests on the best course of action; follow direction from security leadership.
- Complete investigations and subsequent reports by asking relevant questions (who, what, where, why, how) to gather sufficient detail.
- Use a computer‑based report writing system to complete reports and follow through on any given report under the supervision of the security shift manager.
- Maintain constant contact with guests and team members to provide optimal service; coordinate with various hotel departments for information needed for guest service or investigations.
- Maintain a professional appearance in alignment with department and company standards.
- Demonstrate courteous, respectful, and appropriate communication, presenting information concisely and understandably.
- Cooperate with others to accomplish joint tasks and common objectives.
- Contribute to a positive work environment, foster collaboration and provide tangible contributions.
- Meet regular attendance requirements to complete job responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
- Work in a fast‑paced, interruption‑prone environment while managing several tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to draft accurate and efficient reports.
- High level of interpersonal skills to productively work with and respond to questions from managers, staff, clients, law enforcement and the general public.

- Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to remain calm in critical incidents.

- Ability to perform simple math and complex reading, writing, and task completion skills.
- Clerical, coordinating, analytical and supervisory skills; ability to follow instructions, influence others, memorize details, and make independent judgments and decisions.
- Flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
Previous experience in the security field or a background in military or law enforcement is preferred. Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
Certificates and LicensesMust be able to maintain an appropriate Gaming License and Alcohol Awareness card. A valid driver’s license is required, and an acceptable driving record must be presented annually as per GSR SOP from DMV to remain in the position.
Physical DemandsPerform duties that may require constant standing, walking, occasional sitting, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, climbing and frequent balancing. Lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs frequently or up to 100 lbs occasionally may be required. Driving may be frequent. Repetitive use of feet and hands, light and occasional firm grasping motions, and finger dexterity may be required. Constant vision use, including distance, depth perception, field of vision and color vision is required.
WorkEnvironment
Work is performed frequently indoors and outdoors alone or with and around others. Face‑to‑face verbal contact with others is common. Exposure to confined areas, extreme heat or cold, wet/humid areas, dirt/dust, moving objects, high places, slippery surfaces, and moderate to loud noise may occur. Exposure to vibrations, fumes/odor, and secondhand smoke may also occur. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
