PayPay: $44-66/hr
Job SummaryThe Field Technician II will inspect, test, and maintain high, medium, and low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with electrical equipment such as SF6 and vacuum circuit breakers, pad‑mount transformers, GSUs, grounding systems, instrument transformers, and both manual and motor‑operated switches. They will implement safety policies and work with senior technicians while performing entry‑level testing.
Responsibilities- Perform entry‑level testing of high, medium, and low electrical power equipment without direct assistance while collaborating with senior technicians.
- Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment optimum equipment functioning.
- Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
- Undergo a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Be willing to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with the following:
- Voltage verification
- Contact resistance
- Insulation resistance
- Test equipment set‑up
- Reading one‑line drawings
- Understanding equipment identification and associated hazards
- LOTO, Arc Flash, and grounding procedures
- Reading electrical schematics
- Testing apparatus without supervision: breakers, transformers, CTs, PTs, cables, and grounding components.
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or military experience preferred.
- 2–4 years of relevant industry experience.
- NETA II certification.
- Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift 70 lb.
