We are currently hiring a Data Center Technician II to work in Reno, NV
. This role is a direct hire opportunity, joining a global team offering continued industry training

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install and decommission structured cabling and network infrastructure within data center environments.
  • Implement scalable, repeatable, and sustainable infrastructure solutions with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to project stakeholders.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards, and applicable codes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively identify and resolve project obstacles.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and redlined construction documentation.
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of data center infrastructure systems and technologies.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency with basic telecommunications tools and test equipment.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership over work performed.
  • Understanding of customer service principles and effective communication.
  • Solid grasp of job-site safety practices and requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling systems and wiring standards.
  • Experience pulling and terminating low-voltage cabling (copper and fiber).
  • Proficient in labeling, field terminations, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Experience managing mid-sized installation or service projects.
  • Skilled in laying out and organizing MDF (Main Distribution Frame) and IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) closets.
  • Ability to neatly dress and terminate various types of cabling.
  • Comfortable working in mission-critical data center environments.
  • Ability to patch into and test network equipment, including analog, DSL, and T1 lines.
  • Knowledge of copper and fiber cable troubleshooting and testing techniques (including Versiv OLTS and OTDR tools).
  • Experience with both OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP (Inside Plant) fiber splicing, including single-mode and multi-mode.
  • Capable of conducting service swaps, decommissioning jumpers/trunks, and performing multipair copper splicing.
  • Able to lead or supervise team members as needed.
  • Reports to Operations Manager; takes direction from senior technicians and leads.
  • Follow infrastructure design specifications and perform installations accordingly.
