Raymond West is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our service team! The primary objectives of the Service Technician include:
- Proficient repair and service of the customer's equipment.
- Maintain good communication and working relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Represent and sell the entire company.
- Maintain and exceed productivity goals.
- Work within all safety guidelines established by Raymond West and OSHA.

Duties and Responsibilities- Repair all types of equipment that Raymond West sells and services.
- Update training and skills on a continuing basis.
- Train other employees as needed.
- Maintain a profitable billing level.
- Follow all Service Department procedures.
- Communicate with assigned Field Supervisor.
- Complete all paperwork transactions in a timely, neat, accurate and orderly fashion.
- Communicate all options to customers before proceeding with work.
- Have the necessary tools to perform repair and scheduled service work.
- Complete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
- Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
- Maintain an accurate assigned parts inventory, if applicable.
- Always represent the entire company.
- Pass Raymond Certification and re-certification if applicable.
- Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record as established by the company’s insurance carrier.
- Report accidents whether self or customer.
- Account for 100% of available time during working hours.
- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary and coordinate it with the assigned supervisor.
- Follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook.
- Follow safety procedures and use good judgment in regard to safety.
- Be willing to work out of town as necessary.
- Establish a positive rapport with customers.
- Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Service Supervisors or Managers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Excellent organizational time‑management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees, coworkers, and managers in other departments.
- Willingness to work off‑hours as specific needs dictate and assume additional responsibilities.
- Consistent alertness and safe working practices.
- Self‑motivated and able to manage time efficiently.
- Customer‑oriented and professional in all interactions.
- Follow mandates and procedures of the Service Department.
- Deal with customers on a face‑to‑face basis.
- Maintain a sound relationship with other technicians and fellow workers.
- Pass all available certificates appropriate to the position.
- Working knowledge of basic DC and AC electricity, internal combustion, and diesel engines.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
- Raymond Level 1 Certified or working toward that goal, if applicable.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable points record, if applicable.
- Maintain personally owned tools according to approved minimum tool list and additional tools as required.
- Take direction and work well in a team.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical abilities.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
- Quick learner, accurate, and flexible.
- Motivated for continuous self‑development and training.
- Assume more responsibility as required.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
