School Social Worker – Washoe County School District
Summary Description
Under general direction of the Principal and Coordinator of School Counseling, the School Social Worker will seek to address barriers to academic success that may exist within the child, home, school, and/or community. School social workers take a strengths‑based approach to assessment and seek to intervene across the many systems that interface in the life of a child. By providing intervention strategies and direct services to students and their families, such as screening and assessment, case management, referral and linkage with community resources, crisis intervention and support, as well as individual or group counseling, the School Social Worker will support the mission and goals of the school district in regard to facilitating academic success for all students.
