  • Managing monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closings with accurate financial reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, including audits and tax filings
  • Leading and developing a small, skilled accounting team
  • Maintaining internal controls and GAAP compliance
  • Managing grant invoicing and fund reporting
  • Driving process improvement through LEAN or other efficiency methods
  • Providing financial insights and analysis to support decision‑making

As a key financial leader, you’ll also:

  • Mentor and grow your team through coaching, feedback, and development planning
  • Collaborate across departments to align financial practices with broader organizational goals
  • Play a lead role in audit preparation and financial reviews
  • Serve as a backup for the Director of Accounting as needed
Qualifications

The ideal candidate is both detail-oriented and strategic, capable of managing the day-to-day while keeping an eye on the big picture.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated success in improving or modernizing accounting systems/processes
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and audit preparation
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit or healthcare settings is a plus, but not required
What’s Offered

Team members are supported with a well‑rounded benefits package that promotes well‑being, work‑life balance, and personal growth, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families
  • Paid time off, holidays, and special leave options (such as extended illness and compassion time)
  • Employer‑matched retirement savings plan
  • Life and disability insurance, with additional voluntary benefits available
  • Wellness programs and Employee Assistance Program
  • Perks like discounts on travel, entertainment, and more
  • Opportunities for career advancement in a purpose‑driven workplace
