• Additional Compensation for Special Education educators:
  Commit ment Bonus $2,000 (Requires a 3-year commitment to Renton School District in a certificated Special Education teaching or clinical ESA position. Paid in lump sum upon completion of first full month of work. Prorated by FTE.)
• Special Education Stipend $5,528 (Recruitment and retention of Special Education teachers; reflects payment for extra duties required, such as writing IEPs, assigning work to para educators, etc. Prorated by FTE.)

We also know that inclusive practices are hard work, and we don’t expect our staff to do it alone. Every teacher has access to a highly qualified Special Education Facilitator to brainstorm with and receive coaching from, as well as access to a Special Education Director who will partner with you.

All of our special education certificated staff receive a generous stipend and IEP release days. New special education staff receive a significant amount of support during the onboarding process, including specialized training on writing IEPs and review of curriculum and instructional materials available to our staff.
