EssentialFunctions of a Teaching Fellow
Teaching Fellows teach alongside an experienced Lead Teacher in Impact’s early elementary grades (Transitional Kindergarten – 2nd grade).
Support Lead Teacher in Implementing High Quality Classroom InstructionTeaching Fellows work alongside an experienced Lead Teacher. Teaching Fellows lead instruction throughout the day.
Serve as a Mentor to StudentsTeaching Fellows are assigned a “mentor group” of students. Teaching Fellows support mentees in setting goals and serve as a primary point of contact with families of their mentor group. Teaching Fellows deliver Impact’s social emotional learning curriculum.
Teaching Fellows lead enrichment courses. These are similar to electives in the early elementary setting.
Commit to Professional Learning and GrowthTeaching Fellows attend professional development and receive regular coaching. Teaching Fellows are excited to be pushed in their practice and grow as teachers.
Additional Requirements- Prior to the start date of employment all employees need to obtain clearance on a criminal justice fingerprint and background check.
- Prior to being made an offer, the hiring manager will ask candidates to complete a character and fitness form from the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.”
