Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-semester special education teaching opportunity is designed for a licensed educator passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in an elementary school setting. The position, based onsite in Renton, WA, offers a balanced schedule that includes direct classroom instruction and dedicated time for essential planning and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering tailored instruction and interventions for a caseload of approximately 22.5 hours per week
  • Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state guidelines
  • Collaborating with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success
  • Participating in weekly planning, IEP meetings, and professional trainings during allocated non-student days
  • Maintaining accurate records and monitoring student progress
Qualifications
  • Current Washington State teaching license in special education
  • Preferred experience with preschool-aged students; candidates with K‑2 elementary experience will also be considered
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral supports
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Schedule:

    Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Days without students on Wednesdays for planning and meetings
  • Contract duration: ASAP through June 17, 2026
