Applied Professional Services, Inc (APS) is a leading technology solutions company specializing in advanced utility location and investigation services. We work with a diverse range of clients across various industries, including telecommunications, transportation, water/wastewater, transit, aviation, and ports, for private and public agencies. APS is searching for a dynamic Professional Engineer to lead and expand our professional service expertise in providing reliable underground and above-ground utility information to reduce the risks that utilities present for infrastructure projects.
APS is a wholly owned subsidiary of T2 Utility Engineers. Since 1993, T2 Utility Engineers has provided professional Subsurface Utility Engineering and Utility Coordination services in support of infrastructure projects of all sizes and types. Using advanced technologies, our team of field technicians, engineers, and surveyors provide quality data and professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan, and design their projects.
Responsibilities- Interface with clients to obtain work and conduct business development activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients.
- Report on client and competitor activities.
- Attend and participate in Civil Engineering industry events.
- Prepare business activity and forest reports.
- Review composite utility files, plan sheet drawings and complete ASCE 38 compliant SUE plans in Micro Station and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Demonstrate ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks.
- Work with proposal team and respond to requests for information, proposals and/or quotations.
- Prepare work plans, assemble project team, delegate tasks and ensure compliance with scope and timely completion of tasks.
- Initiate, prepare, review, and participate in proposals, rate & staff hour estimate preparation, and negotiations.
- Serve as representative of APS at client meetings.
- Oversee QA/QC functions to ensure accurate and high- quality deliverables to clients.
- Review invoices and prepare/review progress reports to client.
- 4‑year degree in civil engineering plus 10+ years’ experience in civil engineering.
- Must be a licensed professional engineer in the State of Washington, or in the process of obtaining their WA PE (within 1 year).
- Civil Engineering expertise in Transportation, Water/Wastewater, or Transit a plus.
- Ability to effectively network to obtain strategic growth KPIs for new business and key clients.
- Strong written and oral communication, supervisory and mentoring, attention to detail and accuracy, planning, decision making, problem solving.
- Preferred Micro Station, AutoCAD / Civil 3D knowledge.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Knowledge of Subsurface Utility Engineering and Utility Coordination a plus.
- Excellent technical writing, communication and project management skills.
