Description
The Security Engineering Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership, technical guidance, and training for engineering and technical support staff within LONG's Security Solutions business unit. This role is responsible for strengthening team capabilities, improving efficiency, and elevating the quality of client deliverables. The Supervisor supports the development and review of submittals and installation drawings for innovative system designs, large-scale and complex projects, and comprehensive audits of existing facilities.
Serving as a technical subject-matter expert, the Supervisor leads the design, selection, and application of security systems and partners closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Pay Range: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour, plus potential profit share

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks assigned as required. - Lead, supervise, and develop the Engineering team, including hiring, training, coaching, support in disciplinary actions, technical oversight, and completion of annual performance reviews.
- Supervise and mentor the Security Technical Support team, providing leadership in recruiting, training, coaching, and technical escalation support.
- Stay current with the modern technologies and components utilized in security systems for both commercial and correctional systems and be prepared to train the rest of the Engineering team on said technology and components.
- Maintain ownership of assigned engineering and design responsibilities, balancing hands-on project work with leadership duties to ensure timely delivery, technical accuracy, and support of departmental goals.
- Collaborate with other engineers and departments to improve product design and quality.
- Support the department in bidding, designing, and executing various jobs and projects.
- Travel may be required based on business unit and location needs.
- Develop and maintain standard templates for our designs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of security engineering and design at LONG or 10+ years of security engineering and design at a similar company along with a bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or related field) or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
- Mechanical aptitude, with a working knowledge and strong understanding of security systems, installation practices, and construction procedures.
- Thorough understanding of security industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communications skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to write standardized operations procedures.
High aptitude for training and guiding other engineering professionals. - Demonstrated ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
- Expert in AutoCAD or Viso.
- Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and allocate resources efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering or related fields.
- Knowledge of industry codes (NEC, UL, and local building regulations) is a plus.
