Salary Range: Min $33.29 - Max $53.78/hr (DOE)

Job Overview

The Surgical Technician serves as the primary scrub person in the surgical suite and other clinical areas. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining sterile field, assisting with room turnover, and ensuring all procedures adhere to surgical preferences and protocols.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Assure that surgical procedure preference cards are current and followed.
  • Physically prepare clinical area, including furniture placement.
  • Prepare specimens for pathology and transport as required.
  • Establish and maintain sterile field.
  • Prepare instruments and supplies for use.
  • Assist in room turnover and setup in a timely manner.
  • Familiar with autoclave use and coordinates stocking with staff.
  • Follow Surgical Services dress code and wear .
  • Comply with attendance and tardiness standards.
  • Verify integrity of sterile packaging and open supplies aseptically.
  • Know the specific uses of all needed equipment and supplies, including solutions and drugs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follow chain of command for unresolved issues.
  • Successfully complete annual competency testing.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program with recent experience in an acute care facility or equivalent training.
  • Current registration to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of Washington.
  • Certification preferred.
  • Capable of comprehending, executing, acting, and directing independently.
  • Effective oral and written communication in English.
  • Neat and well‑groomed appearance.
  • Effective interpersonal skills in a diverse population.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively apply Valley Values in daily work.
