Registered Dietitian - Outpatient Nutrition

Job Summary:

Provides nutrition education and nutrition counseling services for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington for individual members, groups, and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington staff. Works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient's medical program goals and objectives.>

• Nutrition counseling and follow-up on individual basis or through groups, classes, and health care teams for preventative health care and/or specific medical conditions.
• Nutrition Services program development and staff training. Screen/develop nutrition education teaching materials and aids. Support community projects related to nutrition.
• Designs evidence-based nutrition care plans for patient population based on nutrition diagnosis and as outlined by departmental standards of care protocols and policies.
• Provides ongoing evaluation and monitoring of patients by documenting their progression toward meeting prescribed goals in the electronic medical record and by communicating with other members of the healthcare team.
• Provides effective nutrition education to patients and their care providers that takes into consideration their learning abilities, readiness to learn, and cultural beliefs.
• Performs nutrition assessment, education, and medical nutrition therapy and/or directs others in professional administrative dietetic services, as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: Minimum one (1) year of clinical nutrition experience.

Education: Bachelor's degree in food and nutritional sciences or related field.

License, Certification, Registration: Dietitian Certificate (Washington) required ic Life Support required at hire.

• Spanish Speaking.
• Knowledge and experience in gastrointestinal nutrition.
• Knowledge and experience in oncology nutrition.
• Knowledge and experience in pediatric nutrition.
• Enteral Nutrition/Total Parenteral Nutrition (EN/TPN) knowledge and experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) charting systems (EPIC).

Compensation & Benefits:
