Provides/assists the direct nursing care of all patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Area of Assignment: Department of Emergency Services or Critical Care.
Hours of Work: Variable.
Responsible To: Unit Manager/Supervisor/Charge Nurse/Registered Nurse.

Job Functions:
See Generic Job Description for Clinical Support Partner. - Provide/assist in the direct nursing care (within scope of practice) of all patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Transport and escort patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, including all necessary support equipment (e.g., IV pumps, oxygen tanks). Utilize IV tote safety devices and obtain help for difficult transports.
- Clean and stock treatment areas, patient rooms, and supplies; restock linens and equipment per hospital policy.
- Clean all used instruments and equipment before CS pickup; ensure equipment is sterilized.
- Assist in maintaining orderly work areas, equipment, and supplies.
- Regularly clean specified units such as medicine room refrigerator, dirty utility room, employee lounge, and assigned stretchers/wheelchairs.
- Check and replace BP cuffs, flashlights, suction heads, restraints, and other supplies as needed.
- Maintain clean and restock unit carts (Cast, OD, Burn, Eye, Pelvic, Trauma, Difficult Intubation, Line).
- Perform monthly cleaning of cupboards and drawers in all rooms; daily check outdated supplies.
- Complete checklists and account for supplies/equipment each shift.
- Assist with admitting duties and documentation as needed.
- Coordinate daily activities with the charge nurse or zone lead.
- Completion of an accredited MA and actively pursuing a nursing degree.
- BLS certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- High school diploma, GED, college transcript, or Washington State Department of Health license if performing non-waived testing.
- Complete HCA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills in a diverse population, ability to learn tasks, follow instructions, and work effectively with various age groups.

- Emergency Services: Completion of accredited MA, Emergency Department Technician program, or CNA (with active Washington State Nursing Assistant – Certified license) and actively pursuing a nursing degree or EMT or Paramedic with field experience. EMT or Paramedic must have an active Washington State Registered Nursing Assistant License prior to employment. One year experience in a CNA or EMT field recommended.
- Critical Care Unit: Previous Critical Care experience required; one year preferred.
