Salary Range: $67,361 - $142,341/year (DOE)
Job OverviewThe Application Analyst II will troubleshoot, document, and resolve IT application issues in a timely manner. The role requires a self‑directed learner with excellent communication skills and expertise in healthcare computing environments.
Essential Responsibilities and Competencies- Provide direct supervisor or lead with a weekly summary of activities.
- Document change control and system problems according to departmental procedures.
- Advises supervisor or lead on potential problems, expanded services, and status of current systems.
- Promptly notify supervisor or lead of problems, unexpected tasks, and missed targets.
- Respond to all requests according to departmental standards.
- Perform end‑user functions for assigned products to a high level of competency.
- Ensure reports, data, and devices are appropriately secured.
- Maintain the security of the Data Center systems and information per VMC and departmental information privacy policies.
- Provide after‑hours support as required.
- Login to the enterprise network and all supported applications.
- Organize, schedule, manage (chair) meetings and publish meeting minutes.
- Contact vendor for support.
- Complete annual VMC educational requirements.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Document scope statements, defining size and planning parameters of projects or multiple groups of tasks.
- Prepare detailed work plans and target dates for all projects.
- Use standard flowcharting tools and techniques to create and maintain business process and functional flow charts.
- Identify and resolve complex issues, including identifying appropriate parties and potential solutions.
- Engage teams in collaboration and discussion to guide toward acceptable solutions.
- Demonstrate self‑initiated process improvement and actively pursue expansion of knowledge in applications and functions supported by VMC IT.
- Manage and/or lead planning and completion of projects on time and as designed.
- Show high technical aptitude; adopt new technology and application functionality quickly.
- Provide complete testing plans to validate system parameters and functionality.
- Communicate design and functionality principles and risks to all audience levels.
- Help others learn how to structure and solve problems; mentor groups on technical and non‑technical skills.
- Promote team spirit and commitment to common objectives, involving the team in decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and numerous interruptions.
- Demonstrated competence in analysis and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare computing environments.
- Self‑directed, quick learner with strong attention to detail.
- Proven record of excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio proficiency required.
- Current in required application certifications.
Requires ability to move PCs and printers weighing up to 40 lb. Requires planning, organizing, and working on multiple tasks at one time, and tolerates ambiguity in instructions and work situations.
