The Laminator performs a variety of techniques to laminate composite components according to drawings and Standard Work Instruction (SWI).
Responsibilities- Lay‑up composite materials on mandrels per the manufacturing plan and SWI; wrap mold with composite materials in preparation for curing to form composite parts.
- Check documentation accuracy of manufacturing planning; report discrepancies and schedule concerns to the supervisor.
- Verify materials match the manufacturing plan.
- Verify part and sign off on work performed.
- Adhere to schedules and time allowances, takt time, for production requirements.
- One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in composite manufacturing a plus.
- Ability to read and understand detailed instructions and follow demonstrated steps.
- Basic understanding of process specifications.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Excellent hand‑eye coordination.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Usually work indoors; sites may not be temperature controlled.
- Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
- Exposure to hazardous equipment and contaminants.
- Shared work spaces with other employees.
- Requires handling objects up to 30 lbs.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending.
- Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies by role, shift, and overtime).
