English Williams Woolshed is a family-operated business located in the heart of a primary wool growing region, 150km southeast of Perth, Western Australia. The re-birth of the Williams Woolshed is through shared aspirations, our vision was to create a venue that offers exceptional customer service and quality produce and products. We are currently seeking a full-time Chef to work energetically with high dedication and hard-working team members in our café.
We are always on the lookout for talented chefs of levels who are passionate about making delicious and beautiful food to create a memorable experience for our lovely guests.
- Monitoring and ensuring the preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes to an exceptional standard across all menus
- Assisting in selecting and training staff to ensure smooth operations of the kitchen
- Initiating and demonstrating innovative techniques and advising on cooking procedures and preparations
- Influencing and monitoring food costs via portion control, waste minimisation, and stock control
- Ensuring menus are planned as required for event bookings and ensuring food and labour costs are estimated appropriately in a timely manner in a remote environment
- Ensuring special dietary requirements including allergy-related requests are adhered to
- Actively maintaining awareness for nutrition and healthy eating
- Ensuring safe production measures and adhering to food safety guidelines are explained to kitchen staff
- Adhering to food safety guidelines when preserving and freezing food
- Ensuring relevant issues and concerns are communicated to kitchen and floor staff, manager and directors as required.
- Related culinary/cookery qualification (preferred)
- Min. 2 years’ experience in a fast paced, high volume restaurant/pub environment (preferred)
- Have experience in Western cooking (preferred)
- Previous experience as a Cook/Chef or at a Senior Sous Level (preferred)
- Can do attitude, excellent communication, time management, scheduling, teamwork and reliable
- Strong cost control ability including in food, equipment, labour and waste is preferable
- Ability to train and assist junior team members in the kitchen area will be highly regarded.
- Police clearance, COVID-19 certificate and first aid certificate
- Fluent in English
- Applicant must agree to random drug testing
