Title: Collections Specialist

Location: Reston, VA (hybrid flexibility once trained)

Assignment Type: Temporary

Compensation: $25-27/ hour

Work Schedule: M-F, 9-5

Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, and 401(k)



Key Responsibilities :

  • Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices and ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Monitor AR aging reports and proactively follow up on past-due accounts.
  • Work closely with project managers and billing teams to resolve disputes and billing discrepancies.
  • Track and collect retention payments according to contract terms.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer communications, payment commitments, and collection efforts.
  • Prepare and send demand letters, lien notices, and other collection-related documents as needed.
  • Assist in processing lien waivers and ensuring timely release based on payments received.
  • Support monthly and quarterly AR reporting and cash flow forecasting.
Qualifications:
  • 2–4 years of collections or AR experience, preferably in the construction or related industry.
  • Familiarity with construction billing terms, contracts, lien rights, and retainage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Quick Books).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service mindset.
