Mid‑Level and Senior‑Level Pipe Support Engineer (12‑month contract)

Reston, VA

Hybrid: at least three days per week on site at 12011 Sunset Hills Road / 20190.

Support the Natrium project—a DOE initiative to advance U.S. leadership in nuclear energy production. Natrium focuses on developing a 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR).

Pipe & Valve Engineer responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and reviewing plant design and piping work requirements. Provide technical input to ensure configuration compliance, meet procurement requirements, and resolve complex issues.

• Prepare and execute material requisitions for bulk pipe, valves and supports, and other piping components.
• Prepare pipe and piping component related calculations, minimum pipe wall thickness calculations, and material evaluations to ASME B31.1, B31.3 and other codes & standards.
• Prepare, coordinate and maintain piping and valve technical specifications, material class sheets/specifications, requisitions, bid evaluations and award recommendations.
• Perform detailed supplier bid technical evaluations and supplier document reviews.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain (Buyers, Expeditors, etc.) and suppliers regarding technical requirements of purchase orders. Disposition of supplier deviation requests and RFIs.
• Disposition of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and Field Change Documents (FCDs) generated by Construction.

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent).
• 5–8 years of relevant experience for Mid‑Level.
• 9–12 years of relevant experience for Senior‑Level.

• Knowledge of standard piping codes such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, IPC, etc.
• Prior experience developing piping material class sheets & technical specifications.
• Familiarity with Smart Reference Data (SRD) and Smart Plant Reference Data (Preferred).
• Familiarity with Oracle Agile (Preferred).

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Local or regional candidates highly preferred (per diem not available).
• Mid‑Level base pay rate: $75.00 /hour.
• Senior‑Level base pay rate: $90.00 /hour.
