Craig Technologies is partnered with Bechtel, the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on Terra Power’s Natrium team. Selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, Natrium is participating in a DOE initiative to re‑establish U.S. leadership in nuclear energy that provides matching funding to industry to design and build an operational advanced reactor. Terra Power, a leading advanced generation technology company founded by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, will deploy its 345 MWe sodium fast reactor (SFR), called Natrium.

The Natrium plant features an advanced, cost‑competitive reactor design that is safer, simpler, easier, and less costly to construct, less expensive to operate, and able to provide energy that is competitive with fossil fuels. It also includes an innovative molten‑salt energy storage system designed to complement solar and wind power by evening out peaks and valleys in production when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing.

With the reactor and energy storage output combined, the plant can produce more than 500 MWe of power.

Essential duties include performing pipe stress analysis of systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 or B31.1 Code. This position is designated as part‑time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

• Model the piping systems using Bentley Auto Pipe to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads.
• Review stress of isometrics based on span tables.
• Check the work completed by others.
• Collaborate closely with layout personnel and pipe‑support engineers to deliver a quality and cost‑effective design.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
• May include certain lead responsibilities.

AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 7‑8 years of experience or 9‑12 years of relevant work experience.

• Must be able to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.
• Knowledgeable of ASME B31.3 and/or B31.1 and other relevant industry piping codes and standards.
• Prior experience using a computer pipe stress analysis program (Auto Pipe preferred).

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $134,000; however, Craig Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and preferred skills and knowledge.
