This job opportunity is available at any location in the United States, ideally near a Jacobs U.S. office. The role is on‑site at our Baton Rouge, LA site. Lightly scoped for ambitious professionals who thrive in fast‑paced, collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with clients in the Data Center market.

• Preliminary assessments of wireless telecommunications projects
• Concept creation and lead designs with support from SMEs, BIM designers, and peers
• Internal and external problem resolution
• Drawing and specification production for design packages
• Ensure customer and vendor accessibility throughout the project lifecycle
• Complete multiple concurrent projects on time as directed by a Manager or Lead Engineer
• Design and provide technical leadership for systems in data center buildings (Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, LMR, Site Radio, RoIP, Wi‑Fi, Tower Studies)
• Design wireless systems in iBwave and EDX
• Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages
• Coordinate with AHJs, Radio System Owners, and Carriers
• Create or modify DIV 27 specifications
• Conduct site visits and review technical documents
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 5 years of experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems, including:
• LMR 2‑way radio (outdoor LMR, Site Radio, RoIP systems)
• Public Safety DAS systems
• Commercial DAS systems (OTA DAS, Neutral Host DAS, DRAN DAS)
• Minimum 5 years of experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or equivalent modeling programs
• Experience working with clients to identify wireless communications needs
• Experience troubleshooting wireless communication system issues from field teams
• Knowledge of Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, VSWR, and network optimization in design and installation
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA 72, 1221, 1225, IFC section 510, FCC parts 20 and 90, FCC OET bulletin 65, and NFPA 1225
• Knowledge of IBC, FCC OET bulletin 65, Mentor, MONOTRBO, Motorola R56 installation standards, DMR Tier III
• Familiarity with Navisworks, responding to RFPs, creating budgets, schedules and risk mitigation plans
• iBwave Level 2 Certification required
• Excellent project management skills and self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients

• Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems
• EDX or Motorola design certifications
• FCC GROL, NICET Design Certification
• Multiple OEM product certifications
• Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering degree
• EIT or PE
