Crescent Hotels & Resorts is honored to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented Pastry Cook for the JW Marriott Reston Station. The hotel features 247 rooms across 12 floors and 16 residential floors, with a 35,000 sq ft luxury meeting space. It is located along the Silver Light Metro between Dulles and Reagan National airports, providing travelers with exceptional access to the capital region.
Responsibilities- Developing and updating pastry recipes to enhance menu offerings and meet customer preferences.
- Supervising and training junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of pastry preparation and presentation.
- Managing inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, ensuring stock levels are maintained and orders are placed as needed.
- Coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Creating visually appealing dessert displays for special events and occasions to attract customers.
- Monitoring and adjusting baking processes to achieve optimal texture and flavor in all pastry items.
- Meeting sales targets by developing seasonal and promotional pastry items that drive customer interest.
- Experimenting with new techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations to innovate and improve pastry offerings.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self‑starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch‑in” and help co‑workers with their job duties and be a team player. Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs.
