This position is remote. Acuity is a digital strategy and technology consulting firm that serves federal agencies with critical missions. Our experts support projects in IT Modernization, Data Enablement, and Hyperautomation to help protect national interests.

We seek a Junior System Administrator to support a fast‑paced DHS mission environment, working with senior engineers to streamline operations, improve monitoring and reporting, and assist with environment upgrades and deployments across multiple stages.

• Monitor systems and tickets; perform initial triage, resolution, and escalation.
• Execute routine patching, account administration, and backup/restore tasks.
• Assist with deployments in Dev/UAT/Pre‑Prod/Prod following documented change records.
• Update runbooks, configuration baselines, inventories, and knowledge articles.
• Perform interface checks (web services/SFTP) and basic log analysis using Splunk and platform tools.

• Education/
  
  Experience:
  
  BS in IT (or equivalent) and 1–2 years of system administration or Dev Sec Ops  experience.
• Technical Familiarity: RHEL/Windows Admin, JBoss or similar Java app server basics, Mongo
  
  DB fundamentals, CI/CD usage (Cloud Bees/Maven), Ansible/Terraform basics, IIS/Apache, AD/Kerberos, Splunk/log tooling, SFTP.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer support skills.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
