Desktop Engineer – Digital Solutions (Hybrid | Reston, VA)

Reston, Virginia (Hybrid - minimum 3 days onsite)

We’re seeking a skilled Desktop Engineer in Reston, VA for a 6 month contract to hire role. This role supports and enhances our enterprise IT environment—providing top-tier end-user, device, and systems support while ensuring compliance, security, and reliability.

You’ll manage the full lifecycle of IT assets (provisioning, maintenance, deprovisioning), drive patching and vulnerability management programs, and support Microsoft 365, Azure, and endpoint platforms (MECM, Intune).

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Maintain, configure, and secure endpoint devices using MECM and Intune.
• Support patching, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and assist with network/firewall tasks.
• Ensure systems adhere to NIST 800-171 and other compliance standards.
• Create documentation, user training materials, and process improvements.

• 3+ years in desktop engineering, endpoint management, or IT support.
• Hands-on experience with MECM, Intune, Power Shell, and M365/Azure.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST, or other security frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills.
