Immediate opportunity to join our customer, a major Federal Healthcare Insurance provider, in the Reston VA area.

We are seeking a seasoned Scrum Master (8+ years), who is certified (SAFe and CSM) and has experience within a software development/AWS Cloud environment, providing / facilitating Sprint estimation, Sprint planning meetings to identify product backlog items to be worked in a sprint and to estimate level of effort of development activities.

• Lead multiple cross‑functional teams, or Agile Release Train (ART) guiding them on how to use Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum and Lean (e.g. Kanban) values/practices through servant leadership.
• Create and nurture a culture of continuous learning, growth mindset and agile maturity in teams/ART through agile practices, agile mindset, metrics, SAFe guidelines, remove blockers and partner with leadership.
• Exhibit and permeate the behaviors of a Lean‑Agile Leader with a Lean‑Agile Mindset.
• Lead daily standup meetings, track progress by keeping the sprint backlog up‑to‑date, and help to remove impediments.
• Support the team‑ART's efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships with other teams.
• Conduct end‑of‑sprint review meetings where sprint products are demonstrated to stakeholders.
• Conduct Sprint grooming, provide progress reports including but not limited to meta scrum report, burn‑up/burn‑down charts, User Story Point updates.
• Update Product Backlog Items to include new or revised requirements and backlog item.
• Foster collaboration and communication between team members on technical issues, on process improvements, and in addressing and escalating project risks and issues.

At this time, we are only seeking candidates that reside in the Reston, VA/Wash DC/Maryland area, or touching states for a possible onsite interview, and 1‑2 onsite meetings per quarter in Reston VA.

• 8+ years of Scrum Master experience. Lean, Agile methodologies including Kanban. Proven success leading multiple Agile teams to agile maturity and improved customer outcomes.
• Two certifications are required: SAFe and CSM.
• Agile Release Training (ART) experience/knowledge is required.
• Must have SME knowledge of the SDLC process. Proven track record of supporting multiple software development project tracks (Java focused considered a big plus).
• Proven track record of supporting an AWS environment (AWS migration project considered a plus).
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
