Description
The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a Technical Product Manager at our Leidos Headquarters in Reston, VA.
POSITION SUMMARYLeidos is seeking a Technical Product Manager (TPM) to drive the lifecycle management of our Information Advantage and Cloud / Data Center mission drivers. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, mission enablement, and product strategy - ensuring our Mission Drivers (repeatable solutions) are commercial-grade, hardened, and aligned with federal modernization mandates and Administration Executive Orders and Mandates. The ideal candidate brings deep technical fluency in artificial intelligence and cloud / data center, combined with product leadership expertise to guide complex offerings from concept to sustainment.
This role requires a balance of strategic vision, technical insight, and operational discipline to turn mission knowledge into scalable, repeatable frameworks, capabilities, solutions, and services.
No initial clearance is required to start; however you must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- You will transform prototypes and innovative proofs of concept into repeatable, secure, commercial-based solutions that scale across programs and mission domains.
- Lead lifecycle management of AI, data analytics, and cloud integration mission drivers.
- Collaborate with data science, cloud engineering, and cybersecurity teams to define architectures for secure data processing and model deployment.
- Ensure alignment with federal AI strategies, responsible AI governance, and NIST AI RMF.
- Drive integration of commercial cloud and AI platforms (e.g., AWS Sage Maker, Azure ML, Databricks, Anthropic/OpenAI tool chains).
- Develop product roadmaps for AI/ML-enabled mission outcomes, ensuring reusability across multiple customers.
- Establish KPIs for performance, trust, and adoption of data-driven solutions.
- Proficiency in conducting ongoing market research, competitive analyses, and validating user problems to inform product priorities. This includes monitoring market trends and developing insights to shape product vision.
- Research and Insights:
Expertise in customer, usability, and market research, including data-driven decision-making to achieve product goals. - Gather and analyze data from customers, stakeholders, and industry sources to refine product features.
- Collaborate on go-to-market strategies, pricing, and positioning based on analytical findings.
- Assisting in building and understanding cost models for Total Ownership Cost (TOC) including: implementation, sustainment, training, support, decommissioning etc.
- Ability to help design, and implement pricing models (e.g. subscription, usage-based, tiered, etc)
- Understanding of value-based, fixed price, and competitive pricing methods
- Knowledge of Business Case Development and Financial Modeling
- Assist in building pricing models and forecasting revenue/margin impact.
- Help evaluate trade-offs between volume, margin, and market share.
- Helping to define product bundles and packaging strategies for customer across target segments and sectors
- Help in creating the value story of mission drivers
- Collaborating with customer-facing, sales and growth teams to align pricing with perceived value.
- Bonus: experience with commercial product and services development and execution in the federal space (FAR part 12)
- Aligning product roadmaps with fiscal year (FY) budgets, continuing resolutions (CRs), and reprogramming requests. (e.g. prioritizing features that can be delivered before end-of-year spend-out)
- Showing flexibility to tactically use Agile/Scrum practices within waterfall-gated acquisition milestones
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to mission stakeholders.
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline and 15 years of relevant work history;
Bachelor's degree with additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a Masters degree. - 5-10 years of experience in technical product management
- Strong grasp of federal technology and modernization policies.
- Proven success leading cross-functional teams in complex, secure environments.
- Ability to balance technical depth and strategic vision in product decisions.
- Experience with AI/ML lifecycle management, MLOps, and data governance.
- Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and secure data pipelines.
- Familiarity with federal cloud policies, OMB and FedRAMP requirements, and AI ethics frameworks.
- Active DoD security clearance.
