UX Design Lead

Pay Rate
: $45 - $65 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

We're seeking a Design Lead to join our team for a federal contract opportunity! The overall goal of this project is to enhance an existing data portal's user experience and access to critical data. These enhancements will enable the client to more seamlessly report on various programs that support vulnerable groups throughout the U.S.

Experienced in user research and design at the lead level? Have a demonstrated history of working on 508-compliant interfaces in an Agile environment? We look forward to seeing your application!

• Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivations. Ensure design patterns are followed by development team throughout the project.
• Develop user personas and scenarios based on research findings to represent the target audience and their goals.
• Create information architecture (e.g., sitemaps, navigation structures, and content organization) to ensure intuitive and efficient user journeys.
• Design wireframes and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts.
• Design interactive elements and behaviors (e.g, buttons, menus, forms, and animations) to enhance usability.
• Plan and conduct usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness of designs and gather feedback from users. Analyze test results and iterate designs based on findings.
• Collaborate with Technical Lead, Product Manager, and Development Team throughout the design process to ensure alignment with project goals and technical feasibility.
• Ensure designs are compliant with Section 508 standards/regulations and conduct accessibility evaluations, accordingly.

• 5+ years of experience in user experience and design with prior experience at the lead level.
• Prior experience working within Agile framework and software development projects.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

The following are preferred:

• Prior experience working in federal government contracting.
• Active Public Trust or HSPD-12 Tier 1/2 clearance.

Must be willing to undergo a federal background check in accordance with client requirements.
