JobOverview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have experience in identity and access management (IAM) and implementing and managing multi-factor authentication solutions. The MFA Engineer will play a critical role in enhancing our security posture by ensuring the secure and seamless implementation of MFA across our organization.
Job Responsibilities- Working with the technical project team and technical writer to create and validate documentation, user guides, personations, and other communications.
- Developing FAQs and troubleshooting documents related to MFA implementation use cases.
- Identifying gaps in the support structure and working with partner organizations to resolve them.
- Coordinating 3rd‑tier support for MFA technologies.
- Responding to escalated tickets and requests assigned to the MFA Team.
- Coordinating responses to escalated issues and tickets.
- Designing, developing, and implementing MFA solutions to enhance the security posture and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and standards.
- Integrating MFA technologies with existing systems, applications, and infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality and minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate security risks associated with authentication and access management, developing and implementing strategies to address vulnerabilities and threats.
- Developing, maintaining, and updating technical documentation for MFA systems, including design documents, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to MFA systems, providing timely and effective support to end‑users and stakeholders.
- Ensuring MFA solutions comply with relevant federal regulations, standards, and guidelines, including those related to identity and access management, cybersecurity, and privacy.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including cybersecurity, IT, and business stakeholders, to ensure MFA solutions meet organizational needs and requirements and communicating technical information to non‑technical stakeholders, providing training and support as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with Multi‑Factor Authentication solutions, including smart cards, hardware tokens, and biometric factors.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining MFA solutions, with a focus on identity and access management, cybersecurity, and authentication technologies.
- Knowledge of MFA technologies, including smart cards, biometrics, one‑time passwords (OTP), and behavioral authentication.
- Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles, including identity proofing, authentication, and authorization.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulations, including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
- Programming language skills, such as Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience with cloud‑based MFA solutions, such as Azure MFA or AWS IAM.
- US Government
Experience:
Experience working with US government agencies or contractors, with knowledge of federal regulations and standards. - Security
Certifications:
Relevant security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH. - Cloud
Experience:
Experience with cloud‑based MFA solutions, including Azure MFA or AWS IAM. - Scripting
Skills:
Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Power Shell or Python.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information assurance, cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH, are highly desirable.
