We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sybase Database Administrator (DBA) Engineer for a long-term contract engagement. This role is crucial for maintaining, optimizing, and modernizing our Sybase environment, both on-premises and within the AWS cloud
. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Sybase ASE, T-SQL, automation, and high-availability solutions, with a proven track record of successfully executing database upgrades and cloud migrations.

• Provide Sybase Database Administration expertise, including monitoring, tuning, and maintenance of Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) environments.
• Manage and support Sybase databases hosted on Linux operating systems, spanning both on-premises data centers and the AWS cloud
  .
• Develop, implement, and maintain high-availability (HA) solutions and replication setups to ensure continuous operation.
• Spearhead and execute Sybase database upgrades and migrations across various Linux versions, specifically within an AWS cloud context.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and performance debugging of complex database issues to ensure optimal system performance.
• Implement and manage security measures, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and encryption

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Unix Shell scripting and Python to streamline database functions.
• Automate database processes such as back-up, monitoring, and configuration within the AWS cloud environment.
• Provide dedicated, hands-on production support and quickly resolve critical incidents.
• Act as a consultant, providing expert technical guidance and support to internal customers and stakeholders.
• Manage and prioritize workload effectively, demonstrating the ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• 10+ Years of hands-on, robust experience in Sybase Database Administration
  , including Sybase ASE and Sybase Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
• 10+ Years of strong experience supporting Sybase in Linux environments (on-premises and AWS cloud).
• Expert-level experience with Sybase database upgrades and migrations to different Linux versions in AWS.
• Deep expertise with automation tools, specifically Unix Shell scripting and Python
  .
• Strong practical experience with replication setup
  , High Availability (HA), and Auto Sys scheduler
  .
• Demonstrated experience with database security implementation, including RBAC and encryption
  .
• Proven hands-on experience in a production support environment.
• Must be highly detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills
  .
• Excellent communication, time management, and technical presentation skills
  .
