SAP recently decided to combine and harmonize all SAP Sovereign Cloud offerings, establishing an end-to-end process for the Public Sector and regulated industries. The newly created Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit is part of SAP Product Engineering with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP. Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations is collaborating closely with all Board areas to establish a harmonized, scalable, and consistent offering with transparent and standardized deliverables.

We are looking for an Expert Dev Ops Engineer (f/m/d) in the area of Platform Engineering Team within Technology & Engineering unit of Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations team in the Product Engineering board area. This is a hybrid role, located in Reston, VA, with the expectations of working in the office three days a week.

In this role, you will join the Platform Engineering, and by relied upon to provide high level of technical expertise in building, hardening, and operating the interal SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as reference by the regional Operations teams. You will help build, maintain, and deliver Sovereign Cloud products to customers aiming at functional completeness, streamlined deployments, and smooth operation. You will be working closely with technical product managers, engineers and architects with a focus on the Gardener infrastructure and BTP product suite.

You will engage closely with Operations colleagues, Security, as well as the different engineering teams.

• University degree in computer science, engineering or similar
• 10+ years of experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or similar software engineering role.
• Expert proficiency with Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, and other infrastructure automation toolsets.
• Deep expertise with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and an in-depth understanding of their offerings.
• Significant experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring.
• Proven ability to lead and improve software-automation production systems.
• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of scalable computing systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.
• Expertise in scripting languages Python and Bash.
• Robust knowledge of cloud security protocols and best practices.
• A history of setting up, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
