Business Systems AI Intern

** Description*
* The SMIT Marine Corps & OCONUS (MC&O) team is seeking a Business Systems & AI Solutions Intern to support automation and process improvement as part of the US Navy SMIT MC&O Team.

This intern will work directly with MC&O leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance and integrate internal tools, streamline workflows, and leverage AI to automate manual processes where applicable.

* Primary Responsibilities:

* + Enhance and integrate reporting tools, automation and AI

+ Maintain and enhance internally developed tools

+ Develop or support tools that analyze data to identify similar or analogous tasks

+ Conduct targeted research on technical services to support automation

* Basic Qualifications:

*
* + Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field

+ Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and macros

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and operate in a fast-paced proposal environment

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Candidates must be US citizens able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition of employment

Experience with JavaScript, Visual Basic/VBA, and/or Python

+ Experience applying AI or generative AI tools to business or analytical problems

+ Familiarity with Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar platforms

+ Experience working with automation tools, data repositories, or legacy systems

+ Ability to remain upbeat, positive, and constructive under high-pressure deadlines

* Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
