Senior Security Engineer, OCONUS, Google Pub

Google’s Security team is responsible for creating and maintaining a secure operating environment for users and developers. This Senior Security Engineer role within Google Public Sector supports research and development efforts for federal agencies, partnering across teams to monitor for attacks and intrusions and to strengthen defenses at the system and application levels.

• Identify security issues and design, implement, and improve security controls, tools, and services to strengthen security systems and processes.
• Embed end-to-end security guardrails into the SDLC by building automated evaluation pipelines, custom linting, and continuous validation tools for high-assurance code deployment.
• Architect, build, and maintain production-ready Terraform modules and deployment blueprints that scale platform capabilities while enforcing zero-trust baseline configurations.
• Use Generative AI technologies to automate complex security testing, surface edge-case vulnerabilities, and identify emerging attack vectors beyond conventional scan coverage.
• Establish, monitor, and enforce technical security policies and configuration baselines across distributed multi-tenant and air-gapped cloud environments.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
• 5 years of experience in cloud security, application security, security engineering, computer and network security, or security protocols.
• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with current polygraph.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
