PRN Preop PACU RN – Reston Surgery Center

Join Reston Surgery Center to fill a PRN Preoperative/Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN position. This highly sought opportunity is part of HCA Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare services.

We are seeking a Pre Op PACU Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center who demonstrates our core values by caring like family. You will ensure safe and effective nursing care rendered postoperatively until the patient is dismissed from the facility.

• Prepare patient care area adequately and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.).
• Use proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform and document head‑to‑toe evaluation of patients using an approved scoring system in line with HCA policy and procedure.
• Check dressings and/or operative site of patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and family.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher degree in Nursing.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Pre Op, PACU, ER, ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license required by state of employment.
• BCLS certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.
