We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a leading defense technology firm delivering mission-critical software for national security and intelligence operations. This role blends hands-on coding with mentorship and leadership, building applications that support operational teams in high-stakes environments. What You'll Do
* Lead software development efforts for mission-critical applications, initially as an individual contributor with potential to lead a small team over time
* Develop and maintain Windows desktop and web-based applications using C#, .NET, and C++
* Improve, scale, and extend existing software products, adding new features and optimizing performance
* Mentor and guide junior engineers, bridging the gap between senior and less-experienced team members
* Collaborate with end-users and operational teams to translate requirements into actionable software features
* Triage issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate technical solutions
* Ensure high-quality, reliable software in environments with strict operational constraints What We're Looking For
* 5-10+ years of professional software engineering experience
* Hands-on experience with C#, .NET, and C++ libraries
* Windows desktop application experience is highly desirable (MAUI, Blazor, or similar)
* UI/UX development experience is a bonus
* Comfortable developing web-based applications for mission-critical environments
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex codebases
* Ability to mentor and guide a small team of engineers
* Teachable, adaptable, and capable of working in a client-facing environment
