Software Engineer - C++

Verisign’s "ATLAS" platform implementation team is a high performing, agile team who builds horizontally scalable, high performance, and highly available systems. As part of the team, you will be involved in designing and implementing new capabilities for this platform, and also in deployment using CI/CD principles. You will be working with the software that fundamentally enables the internet to operate at scale.

We’re looking for a mid-level software engineer who demonstrate:

• passion for producing quality code and dedicated to best practices such as automated testing, code reviews, continuous integration, and continuous deployment

• skill at interacting and working with people in a positive manner to mitigate key project technical risks and ensure quality

• Solid understanding of software in C++ or similar system-level programming language
• Python or similar scripting language
• Proven foundation in Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, object-oriented design)
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub, Ansible)
• Proficient with Linux
• Outstanding problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent teammate who enjoys a collaborative team environment
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in software development
• 2+ years of C++ or similar system-level programming language
• Working on an Agile software development team
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

• Hands on experience with the Rust programming language
• Familiarity with DNS at the protocol level
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes

This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

The pay range is $108,900 - $147,300. The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.

Reston, Virginia. Reston-based employees must live within a 70‑mile driving distance of the office. This position offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.
