Assistant Swim Coach - Season

Fox Mill Woods Swim Team – Reston, VA (NVSL Division 13 in 2025)

Fox Mill Woods Swim Team is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Coach for the 2026 summer swim season
. We are a spirited community team in Reston competing in NVSL Division 13
, with a strong emphasis on skill development, sportsmanship, and fun.

The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to lead practices, support meet operations, and motivate swimmers of all ages and skill levels. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, a passion for swimming, and wants to foster a love for the sport in a team‑oriented environment.

• Support the Head Coach in planning and leading practices for swimmers ages 5–18
• Provide constructive stroke instruction and feedback
• Encourage swimmer development in a positive and inclusive environment
• Assist at all A & B meets, invitational meets, and team events
• Participate in team pep rallies and social activities
• Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and team leadership

• Previous coaching or competitive swimming experience preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to connect with and motivate children of varying abilities
• CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain prior to season)

• Practices begin the week after Memorial Day (May 2026)
• After‑school practices until mid‑June, then switch to weekday mornings
• Season runs through Saturday, August 1, 2026

• All‑Star Relays
• IM Carnival
• Divisionals & Individual All‑Stars
• Friday night pep rallies & team socials
