About

the Role

As an SEN EYFS Teacher, you will lead a small, structured classroom of early years pupils. Your day-to-day focus will be on delivering early developmental milestones through creative, sensory‑rich play and structured interventions. Skills

Required
  • Adaptability & Creativity: The ability to design and adapt a play‑based EYFS curriculum to suit pupils with complex and diverse learning profiles.
  • Communication Strategies: Experience using alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables to support non‑verbal or pre‑verbal learners.
  • Positive Behaviour Management: A calm, nurturing, and patient approach, with experience in positive behaviour support and de‑escalation strategies.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, parents, and multidisciplinary therapy teams.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK‑recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching within an SEN setting or working extensively with early years pupils with complex needs.
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK (please note, visa sponsorship is not available for this role).
  • An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to undergo a new check via Randstad.
