Senior Fire Risk Assessor
Field & Homeworking – North UK. PIB Risk Management is a national team of risk specialists, part of the wider PIB Group, dedicated to providing simple, effective solutions that make a real difference in the workplace.
What You'll Do- Manage and quality‑assure a portfolio of fire risk assessment projects across a range of sectors.
- Line‑manage and mentor Fire Risk Assessors, providing technical support, coaching, and workload oversight.
- Deliver complex fire risk assessments yourself, including higher‑risk and technical premises.
- Review and sign off FRA reports and action plans, ensuring they are clear, prioritised, and commercially sensible.
- Contribute to fire engineering work (fire strategies, technical reports, design input) with support from senior engineers.
- Proven experience as a Fire Risk Assessor at senior or principal level, with team leadership or mentoring experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, guidance and standards across a range of occupancies.
- Level4 fire risk assessment qualification, IFSM or IFE membership and Tier2 register entry (minimum).
- Excellent communication skills; confident engaging with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel regularly to client sites.
- Work alongside fire engineers on selected projects.
- Fully funded progression towards a Level5 Diploma and/or Fire Engineering degree.
- Gradually take on greater involvement in fire engineering design and strategy as competence grows.
