An opportunity has arisen for a Carer & Patient Experience Worker to join the Carer & Patient Experience Team at Rampton Hospital. Rampton is a national high secure hospital and is based in rural North Nottinghamshire.

To support Carers, family and volunteers in their engagement, participation and involvement towards patient care and visiting the hospital. The role plays a central role in ensuring carers have an appropriate network of support around them and play their role in supporting the best health outcomes of the patients who we provide services and support to.

This role includes arranging, booking and facilitating social visits, providing advice and support and ensuring carer voice is captured and represented in a variety of hospital meetings.

this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled Worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed lower in the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker/Health & Care visa. Main duties of the job

Team purpose:

To improve the overall visitor experience of the hospital. To enhance the life of the patient by acting as carer link between patient wards and other departments by raising awareness of and supporting the carer and involvement / participation strategy. To support and champion the carer and patient involvement / experience across the hospital.

Job responsibilities
  • To manage and oversee the social visitor accreditation process through liaison with social workers, multi-disciplinary teams and security staff in line with visiting procedures and ensuring this is communicated to relevant departments.
  • To act as Ward Carer Link for a particular care stream as part of the Triangle of Care (TOC) agenda providing 1:1 support, organise and facilitate any staff group sessions aiding with TOC assessments, carer information and attend ward community meetings.
  • To improve patient and carer experience of the ward and enhance carers/ ward staff communication.
  • To support and facilitate onsite visits between social visitors and patients often being the sole member of staff on those visits. This includes leading on onsite child and virtual visits.
