Production Operative

JRL Group's East Midlands offsite manufacturing facilities, conveniently located adjacent to the A1 in Carlton on Trent, between Retford and Newark.

We are looking for a hands‑on Production Operative to join our Leeds team. You will be responsible for building high‑quality unitised facades, windows, and doors. This is a technical role that requires a sharp eye for detail and the ability to work from specifications to ensure every product meets our safety and quality standards.

Mon – Thu: 07:30 – 17:30, Friday: 07:30 – 14:30

• Fabrication & Assembly:
  Building unitised and stick curtain walling, roof‑lights, and doors. This includes bonding panels, flashings, and factory glazing.
• Machinery Operation:
  Safely using workshop gear such as overhead cranes, saws, grinders, crimpers, and drills.
• Quality Control:
  Reading technical drawings and inspecting your own work to catch errors before they reach the customer.
• Pre‑Production:
  Assisting with taping, kitting, and issuing materials/accessories when needed.
• Dispatch Prep:
  Packing finished products and completing the necessary quality paperwork.
• Site Standards:
  Keeping your station clean (5S) and ensuring all equipment is checked and safe to use.

• Technical Ability:
  You are comfortable working with your hands and have experience with workshop machinery.
• Eye for Detail:
  You can spot errors quickly on an assembly line and interpret technical reports/drawings.
• Team Player:
  You work well with others but are also reliable enough to manage your own workload without constant supervision.
• Problem Solver:
  You have solid troubleshooting skills to figure out why a production issue is happening and how to fix it.
• Safety Conscious:
  You have a working knowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
