The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) provides direct and indirect patient care, specific to the age of the patient population served in the medical clinic. The candidate works directly under the Physician or Advance Practice Provider (APP) license. S/he communicates with the Physician, APP, or nurse about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including the results of diagnostic studies and symptomology.

S/he is able to perform general nursing duties with adequate supervision, and participates in performance improvement activities. S/he ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the Madisonhealth standard of care. S/he demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the clinic and organization. S/he remains flexible to changing systems and is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.

S/he treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect.

Schedule
  • Monday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Wednesday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Friday 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Required Skills
  • Certification:
    Must maintain a current CMAs certification if s/he is a CMA.
  • Must demonstrate exemplary care of patient and professional respect for medical providers and co-workers.
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and basic Windows‑based programs.
Minimum Work Experience
  • A minimum of one year of work experience in a medical office is preferred.
Minimum Education
  • High school diploma.
  • Graduate of an accredited school.
