The Division of Liquor Control supports Ohio’s economy by providing funding for job creation and business development through the proceeds from Ohio’s liquor industry. The division ensures Ohioans have access to the products they want by overseeing the manufacture, distribution and sale of all alcoholic beverages, selling spirituous liquor through contract liquor agencies and registering products for sale. The division promotes responsible consumption of alcohol by educating the public and ensuring that businesses are informed and trained on their responsibilities not to sell to underage or intoxicated individuals.

What

You’ll Do

• Review new and transfer retail permit applications for completeness.
• Assist Accountant Examiner 3s with securing documents, information and fees for liquor permit issuance.
• Upon receipt of new/transfer retail applications, send notifications to local governmental entities.
• Draft correspondence to applicants and other governmental entities.
• Assist with special projects as needed.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

• 24 months of experience in a position involving review and processing of claims, collections, billings, payments or review of documents for accuracy, completeness & compliance with reporting guidelines, laws or rules; experience commensurate to duties to be assigned.
• Or 16 semester or 24 quarter hours in accounting; 12 months experience in accounting or other fiscal/financial activity.
• Or 12 months experience as Accountant/Examiner 1 (66111) with state government experience commensurate with duties to be assigned.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
