A Personal Care Assistant is a non‑licensed member of the home health care team who assists clients with the tasks of daily living as outlined in a written care plan that is established and kept in the client’s home. The role is supervised by the Executive Director and scheduling is managed by the staffing coordinator.

• Planning and preparing meals according to specific dietary requirements.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment through light housekeeping.
• Providing companionship and stimulation for the client, including reading, walks, and accompanying appointments.
• Grocery shopping and other errands as needed.
• Performing other housekeeping tasks as indicated in the care plan.
• Participating in in‑service education programs.
• House‑sitting and pet‑sitting services.
• Recording pertinent client information.
• Reminding clients to take medication on time.
• Assisting the client with exercises.
• Assisting or performing personal care such as hair care, oral hygiene, bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Assisting with ambulation with or without mechanical aids.
• Assisting with routine bodily functions such as toileting.

• Experience verifiable through references; must complete agency employment and certification process.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Physically able to perform duties of the position.
• Demonstrate mature, responsible behavior and respect patient confidentiality.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Follow directions and accurately report any changes in client’s condition.
• Reliable transportation to and from assignments.
