Waste and Recycling is collected from every resident and in Powys we are one of the best performing Councils in Wales, which as a country is third in the world for recycling! If it wasn't for our frontline staff, we could never achieve this.

• You must take pride in your work, be reliable, and willing to work as part of a team to get the job done.
• You must be committed to helping increase recycling in Powys – flexible, positive, approachable and committed to making a difference to the local community as the first point of contact for the service.
• Enjoy working outdoors in all weathers throughout the year.
• Able to follow instructions for your own and colleagues health and safety.

• Load a variety of waste and recycling collection vehicles, taking responsibility for your health and safety throughout the working day.
• Make sure that residents are putting out the correct items for recycling in the right containers and leaving information if they are not.
• Unload the vehicle at the transfer stations, following all site rules.
• Report any problems to Supervisors so that residents receive a quality service.
• Other activities such as working at the transfer stations, making deliveries and bulky waste collections.
